Hi All, 1990 Mulsanne S. Intermittently when starting the engine the engine coughs and won’t start. Starts OK on the next turn of the key. It will then start normally many times before misbehaving again. Blink code 4312 indicates “SPARK TIMING SENDOR” (sender I would assume). I have replaced the crankshaft sensor adjacent to the water pump, soldered the wire connections to the associated socket and run new wiring, (I used a USB lead – plenty of screening and capable of handling the low voltage), from the socket to the engine management module. All to no avail. There is another sensor, timing sensor, of the same type at the rear of the engine I wonder if this could also give Blink code 4312. I have to remove the accumulators so now would be a good(ish) time. Regards Darryl |
