Hi Pat Wow, a grand to kick it off. Put some oil in it, crank the starter and do a compression test?. You just never know your luck. |

Hi Nick Good to hear from you. I asked the question if it is running, but have not had a reply. This could be the first step in getting to a Merlin on a trailer to take to the engine shows |

Hi Pat, likewise mate. I noticed the dizzy is missing and the "antlers" are mounted backwards!, lol!. Still, if it turns over with good compression and the block/weep holes look ok- it just might be worth salvaging as a running engine?, especially after all these wet liner horror stories. Maybe check it out?. We all love those Youtube vids of Merlins, Griffons and British warbids- those sounds are awesome through good speakers. Lets just say that if I was Hermann Goering- I'd be worried!. |

A big ditto. The huge radial engines with props sound awesome. But I think this is the ultimate back yard Rolls Royce mate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM7ksfRVF70 |
