3 TYPES
Lead, bondo and stopper.
Lead is used by the panel beater for seams close to edges. If it is used in the middle of a panel the panel is liable to warp due to heat from melting the tin lead solder.

Bondo is the painters department and part of the painting process and the paint system.
Bondo is ok up to 1.5 mm.

Two schools of though on apply over etch primer or apply to bare metal. Both work.

Stopper is thick primer paint and is used for small blemishes only.

Lead and bondo are not good at preventing corrosion and water can get under and push the fillers up. It is important to keep damp away when working.
