The clouds also have aluminium bonnet leaves.
The continental R has steel wings for sure - I had to repair a dent on one of mine.
The quiz goes on,

Well, the big surprise to me is that the Conti R is ALL STEEL: not an aluminium panel in sight. Even the petrol filler flap is steel.

Now, that is something: the Conti R is the first all-steel-bodied Crewe creation since the MkVI.

Carl, you are almost otherwise correct, but the S3 Chinese Eyes MPW has a steel shell with alloy front wings, doors and boot. The rear guards are part of the frame and are of steel. All your other entries are correct to my knowledge.

Incidentally, although alloy is lighter than steel, the alloy carbodies overall are heavier as alloy needs considerably more bracing to support its flimsiness.

More comments welcome !!

Hi just to add to the confusion ,a lot of Coachbuilt cars including Bentley Mark V1,R,Type, S type and Cloud series along with Rolls Royce Silver Wraith,Phantoms and Dawns also used a lot of Aluminium alloy for Panels,Also HJ Mulliner used an aluminium alloy for there framework on doors as early as the mid fifties.}}
