Silicon Hi all, Re our 1990 Mulsanne S chassis 32556 Cleaning some dirt and oil off of the front of the engine I discovered a white silicon(?) bung protruding from the engine. It is just below centre & to the left of centre in the photo. It was thick in dirt etc so has probably been there for a long time. I cannot find it in the parts listing (Bentley Heritage web site) nor can I find any pictures showing this area of the engine on the internet. Can anyone enlighten me please? Regards Darryl |

It's a FOAM seal. Don't tug at it. It goes right across to the other side of the engine where it should stick out in the same fashion. |

And if someone just happened to have the foam seal lying around. What would be involved in changing it? Is it worth waiting for something 'more serious' to happen?

Worth waiting for something else. Unfortunately judging by your bag your item will be beyond it's "use by" date. Fortunately for you . . . when it was bagged there wasn't the stupid "use by" rules - so it will still be fine :D |

It runs across the front of the engine above the engine front cover and below the water pump volute casing. Stopping engine oil from escaping hopefully. |
