Today after 43 years of service with yearly checks the water pump gave up.
Lucky not to be running on the motorway.
No temp gauge fitted and no warning from the working low coolant level light or the working warning buzzer.
Lucky the car was on town roads with heavy traffic so the old girl gave warning signs with out any damage!
Clever working design by the RR designers
PIX, home with a leaking pump engine ok.

Another problem not shown up in the MOT has also reared its head, more on this after inspection tonight with the midnight oil.

Mark mine failed then later on the way home the rear brake circuit failed.
Just hope after the repairs no other probs as they can come in threes.

Strange that mine has no wear after all those years of service, looks like the seal has failed, will do the brake job to-day.
water pump kit on order.

43 years on a waterpump!

If the hack that let that design through hadn't already passed away before it failed he'd be fired.

43 years,... might as well drive an Alfa Romeo.

Sad very sad.

luv the humour Ross......
A public flogging would be in order for not making sure the design lasted at least 44 years before failure.....

And the warning design is having the exhaust positioned directly under the water pump giving copious amounts of steam when the seal lets go!
