I'm finally getting around to replacing the broken torsion bar in my boot. I've sourced a new pair and will do both at the same time. My question is; do I remove both hinges, assemble as a unit and then re-mount the hinges or do I mount one hinge and then lever the other hinge upwards with a bottle jack (or even the Shadow jack?) Seems like an awful lot of force is needed either way; any safety concerns I should be aware of? Anyone ever done this? Is it a two man job or can I do it myself? |
