Looking to sell my Motorists Warning Lamp. I found this item in a box of old things my neighbour gave to me when he moved house. The lamp is in a brown leather case that is a little worn and cracked in some places, and fastens closed with a button. There is a (partly faded) picture of an old car and the words '1909 Rolls-Royce' and below that is printed 'Motorists Warning Lamp'. The lamp inside looks a bit like an old camera. Removing the back panel shows it takes a few batteries - but I'm unsure what type and so I haven't tested it to see if it actually works.   . | ||

Hi Joe, It looks a bit late 60's / early 70's Japanese to me. The Rolls-Royce 40/50 on the front is just for a bit of decoration I think. No connection with Rolls-Royce I would guess. From a practical sense, there are high intensity LED warning lamps and tri-angles available these days that are many times brighter and last many times longer, so it probably no longer has any commercial value I'm afraid, much like the good incandescent Eveready Dolphin torches I recently chucked out. New ones are whiter, brighter, and last longer. |
