I bought a RR door umbrella for a modern RR recently. It had a snapped carbon fibre shaft. I glued a .050 in wall stainless tube inside as a repair. I can safely say it is as strong as the original.

There is a seam visible just above the handle, but other than that it is in very good condition. The thing shows little use and functions perfectly. It is a very substantial piece.

I was going to just put it on ebay, but if anyone is intrested I would sell it for $200 usd plus shipping.

Hi Ross,
What is the length of the umbrella?

I have a Volvo truck umbrella inserted above my jack bag.
The cover is really nice and it would be great if I could utilise the cover as well.

Can you see the tube or repair when the umbrella is up.

Any images would be appreciated mate.

I'm interested.

Patrick,

Its 85cm long.

The stainless tube is inside the umbrella's carbon fiber tube so it is completely hidden.

What is visible is the seam where the break occured as visible in the picture. I took the picture with the light reflecting off of the umbrella shaft so you could see the location of the break. In reality the carbon fiber is quite dark so I doubt anyone would notice from a reasonable distance.

I suspect the original owner didn't have it in it's cubby all the way, closed the door and a snap was heard (along with a lot of expletives I suspect)

Hi Ross.

Thanks for the pic.

Count me in mate.
How can I pay you?

That handle is going to look perfect in the boot of the Shadow mate.
