Sounds like a bargain Robert.

Does it have any Beatles significance due to Crew's near location to Liverpool?

I assume you have seen the following eBay sale and have priced accordingly:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Rolls-Royce-Silver-Ghost-Patina-Rare-/171810067676?hash=item2800ad94dc:g:G7oAAOSwrklVXjGE

I had some fabulous chassis sourced Silver Cloud II filth with accumulated on the floor after cleaning the chassis, and I swept it up and through it in the bin. How short sighted I was!

I particularly loved the mention at the end of the ebay auction description for:

We also have a very rare NOS Rolls-Royce Intermittent Electrical Fault (P/N E6660101 -- telex code 'Zorch')

I'd love to see how one would "re apply" the patina to the Springfield Ghost

Robert...
I would respectfully submit that your air is most likely reproduction, and that there was likely a restoration concocted at some point in the venerable vehicle's life. It is accordingly overpriced. Even the expericenced concourse judges have difficulty discerning between original, OEM, reproduction, and flatly fake in such circumstances. No amount of provenance, whether written or verbal, will inspire confidence.

Patrick...
Reapply patina? While it is not thoroughly discussed in any of the TSD manuals, it is a simple task really. Spray adhesive.
Respectfully,
Christian

To re-apply patina use a hammer and paint on rust.

no joking they do this on TV to old pick ups. Then clear coat the mess.

I would have thought that Mark Luft would buy some air. German.

This air is old air and of a better quality than the new stuff.

Robert...
Old? Maybe. Better? I'll bet it smells stale!

Hey,

Great idea Christian. It may make the Shadow run cooler & quieter?

I might make a bid.

Patrick...
Robert specified that the air was from a Cloud and I suspect that it will not interchange with Shadows...of course odder things have happened, so it could be worth trying. Also, be sure to verify shipping charges (included?) and whether it will come by "air" mail.

P.S. oops...I'll bet you were referring to the application method for the patina. Thanks for the compliment, but I'm sure it would have been in any instructions anyway. I suspect that the idea of sealing it on with clear coat would be noticed by the judges.

The Silver Ghost patina is Still on Ebay. The price has dropped to $28.00, that's a real savings. Oh, and now we have 11 people watching. Someone will eventually walk away with a real deal.
I'd try Robert's air, but by now I'm sure it has been sold.
