I received this very sad news from Tim Dean (Editor – Praeclarum) this evening: “It is with great sadness that the Club has learned today that long term and popular member, Don Peel, was killed in an head-on car accident early today while driving his Bentley MkVI to the Kalorama Rally. He was the only occupant of his car. Don was an active member of the Club over many years and was well respected in the MkVI/Dawn Register for his work on his car which won, most recently, its Class at the 2006 Federal Rally. Our thoughts are with Merle and family at this sad time.” This news came as a terrible blow to the Victoria Branch Members as well as me personally. Don’s passing was not only a huge loss to the RROCA in general; we have also lost a real gentleman and a good friend.   | ||

I never knew Don. Tragic waste of life. Best wishes to the people who loved him. sigh |
