In today's Sydney Morning Herald: "When the car's [BMW] engine is started, flaps cover the grille opening to stop cold air from getting in. The engine heats up to its optimum operating temperature faster..." Henry Royce, mechanic, might well have thought they were referring to a calostat. Nice to see some manufacturers pionerring new heights. Of course my 1960s Lancia Flavia had a similar system... Regards, Brian Crump |
