Hi all, I am seeking images of a correct tool kit.

Mine unfortunately is missing so the long hunt/scrounge for tools begins.

My parts list tells me what I am seeking but a picture tells 1000 words, particularly when it comes to shape.

Anyone know if Garrington is the brand of all, or which ones are. I know Dunlop is the brand jack and handle.

Of course if you have anything laying about at a fair price, from pump, jack, work light, wheel brace all that junk in the trunk I'd like to hear from you.

If it's a dumb price then save your time. I'm no concourse and the asking price sure won't match the use or finish anyway. But hey what manufacturers tool kit does. LOL.

Thanks David,

did they happen to come with a cover? I see some shells have covers but they are advertised as coming from 2s.

Others will know better than I, however, to my knowledge, the covers were the same, timber/plywood, with a small leather lifting flap.

Regards
David

You know more than I, thank you.

This car is proving one has to research well before buying anything, for more than one reason.

Found this image which is a bit clearer.

Would anyone care to add how long the original shifter is. Thanks

Jason,

The length is 8" - it is stamped in the handle recess near the adjusting thumb screw.

An early one too, 4/55.

It is called an adjustable wrench, with origins in the 1860,s.

See also the famous "Parrot beak", the "Clyburn Spanner" some of which were 6 feet long.

Hi Christopher,

Here in Australia, they are most commonly known as "shifting spanners".

So the 10" one in the add I'm talking about, Jeff put the link up, is 6/49.

Is that number 6th month 1949, and the one Cristopher mentioned be 4th month 1955?

If my car's heritage certs suggest the car had a deposit paid 7/57 delivered 1/58, a tool kit should be somewhere between 8/57 and 12/57? Or it doesn't work that way?

If it does, I'm a goner.

By the way, thanks for the comment
