Am a newbie - and my first post. From the Flying Spares site I can see to replace the fuel filter in my 2000 Arnage its a Bosch number 0 450 905 295 at a cost $200 AUD landed at my front door. Thought I might explore if there was a cheaper alternative. Contacted Bosch Australia (where I live) who said this item was discontinued 2014 and the couldnt advise on the equivalent no. Pointed out that the engine was a BMW 740i and it was a mass produced car ... so surely ... but the answer was still 'no'. I assume my next step would be to contact local BMW spare parts man, but has somebody else been down this path before |

Take your old one to a real auto parts store like Repco or Bursons. Ask them to check their aftermarket catalogue for a 740i fuel filter. Most of the catalogues will have thread sizes & photos of the part. Go to a BMW dealer and the 10 year old twerp behind the spares counter will say "I can't find it without a VIN number" |
