It is my understanding that the exterior of SU carburettors body and bowls on Mk6 and R type Bentleys were always painted black.
Can anyone recommend a paint that will withstand the ravages of petrol.

I would send them out for powdercoating if you have a facility near you. That's what we do instead of painting them. Less time involved, and more durable.

Thanks Jim, They are being completely overhauled by Midel in Sydney, I might give them a call and see if they can do this
