There really some crazy brutes out there even crazier than me. This car is presently for sale on Gumtree Australia.

If Omar sees this is the workmanship on the upholstery he will flee to Yakusk Siberia drink a crate of vodka and call me collect and jabber in Swahili dialect claiming he has seen the devil himself and Brian will chew off the front fender of his Rolls with his bare teeth sober.

Its a nice price but if the inside of the car is any reflection of the condition of the rest of the car then its only one use is to give up its life as a Rolls Royce and become and anchor for some Russian Billionaires mega sized yacht.

It puts the H in hideous.

If I put my evil cat PussNasty on a diet of Vodka and Blue Ringed Octopus beak juice with a few slices of East Coast Toad fish liver and cracked a dozen ampules of high grade Amyl Nitrate under her nose and threw her into a 44 gallon drum rolling down a steep hill with an industrial sewing machine even she could do the seats better.

Its wild and you lot should look at it!!!! Ekkk Arrk and titsy shockingly boo!!

I believe he's referring to, ugh, this monstrosity.

Pretty enough on the outside with interior by Trash Bag Interiors.

Brian, who figured a web search on [1981 Rolls-Royce Gumtree] would turn it up

Brian is of course correct. Bugger, I have seen it twice so its inevitable that I will now require extremely high priced mental health care.

I must state here that even though Brian is my Darth Vader nemisis of all things Camargue when it comes to internet hands on and intricate techno stuff Brian is my God.

But that aside question? Did Crewe ever make stretched limos or are they built outside of RR?

A 1976 Cadillac Limo called 75 Series is supercool but a Stretched Spur/Spirit well that is downright porno.

Vladimir asked, "Did Crewe ever make stretched limos or are they built outside of RR?"

I guess that depends on how you define, "Crewe," or the concept of, "did Crewe make."

The factory did not produce stretch limos, but, they did bless the creation of same by Robert Jankel Design, Ltd. There is a chapter in the Workshop Manual (TSD 4400), M29, dedicated to these cars.

I do not believe that the one for sale is a butchered Jankel, but just a butchered Spirit or Spur (would have to know the VIN to be sure which). Based on what I can tell from the rear doors it probably was a Spirit, in which case it was definitely not a Crewe approved conversion.

Brian, who although he's Vladimir's Camargue nemisis [sic] I hope I do not trigger emesis (like this limo does)

Typical after-market stretch for the hire car industry with condition to match the clientele.

I shudder to think what its mechanical condition is like.

Surely, this is a car that has died from shame and abuse. Time for it to be put to rest................

Enough said

Here's another stretch Spirit, I happen to be a few miles away for another few days, if anyone is interested, then I'm happy to use this as an excuse to go and have a look ;)
