Bill, My intuition is very twitchy on this one - I suspect it might be a scam especially the blurb on Bentley springs. USD150 for membership makes Tee One an absolute bargain. We need to get one of our US counterparts such as Bob Nicholson to check this out - he would know of it if it is genuine. I trust you have Bob's contact details otherwise our L&D Editor should have it. Have reread the text since posting the above and feel even more uncomfortable the difference in mass between a fabricated R-R shell and pressed B shell is no where near enough to affect the spring compression. David, My gut matches your gut. The eBay sale was for a 2 hour video sjowing 'secrets' about polishing RR stainless steel.this went for USD63! But the following report from eBay shows 22 transaction since he joined on Boxing Day last. If there was a problem it should be showing now. Bill, "Caveat Emptor" - the history of Ebay is littered with scam setups including false references set up over a period of time. As I suggested, best to get an on-site check by a US member - the grille/ride height story just doesn't hold water as far as I am concerned and the prices are higher than I would expect. | ||

Dear me I am such an innocent old man I just can't imagine the trouble people will go to to extract a few quid. I have, quite fortuitously found the web site of the Cloud register in the American RROC and got into correspondence with the Registrar. A few days later I get an emailed copy of the latest bulletin from the Rolls-Royce Restoration Club. My address was among perhaps 30 others. I then flashed off an enquiry to the Registrar mentioned asking what was the connection and got a very prompt reply to the effect 'nothing'. This in itself seems odd since even I would check on such a site even if it was the Rolls-Royce cake baking club!!! Curiouser and curioser! Please speculate. |
