Anti freeze has 5 main additives. 1 anti corrosion. 2 water pump seal oil. 3 water wetter sufficant. 4 anti cavation. 5 anti scale water softener. Also dye and of course ethylene glycol. 50% water and glycol antifreeze has a specific gravity of 1.06 to 1.09. Maximum is 70% antifreeze. I was told about the anti cavation additive today. I didn't know. Methanol antifreeze is not sold in the UK now. |
