The air conditioning blower fan my 1980 SS2 emits a rather suspicious, worn bearing type hum when running. Is it possible to service the bearings, or have the motor serviced, in Australia.

Cheers
Peter

Peter, If the motor works it could probably do with a clean out which you can do yourself. But when you are putting it back make sure its mounts haven't sagged. You can test that now by having the thing running and move it around on it mounts. If the noise abates its a mounting problem and the motor is touching something and the noise is amplified by the body. The other thing to consider is the age of the mounts. After 25 years the rubber hardens and transmits noise. The mounts are readily available but at a ridiculous price. Trot along to Blackwoods or a good size hardware wholesaler and you will find the same mounts but with different threads. I am sure you will work out a way around that!
