Conrods have two brgs a big end and a small end. To change the small end is a shop job for a skilled engineer.

The big end is Shell brgs. The bore of the big end is honed so it should have hone marks like a cylinder bore. If not the shells have most likely spun in the end. The rod is scrap. However they can be recovered which is again a skilled job. Anything not quite right in this area could cause serious engine problems.

Conrods can bend from water entering while the engine is running, not always obvious.

If the engine when assembled has no tight spots or pistons that are lower than the others at TDC then the rods are not bent.

Bent rods must not be straighten they are scrap.
To check for truth requires equipment that a diy and most garages don't have. So take to engineers for checking which takes about 5 mins per rod.

The small end on most engines floats in the piston and conrod and is held in place by circlips which must not fall out because they will rip up the bore.

Austin used a split small end with a clamp bolt. The piston pin turned in the pistons only.
Ford used press fit into the conrod.
