Hi there, Hope this thread finds you all well! I have just purchased a 1998 RR SILVER SERAPH V12 5400cc (VIN: SCALA61E7XCH01581) from a friend. According to him, the car had been sitting idle in the garage for over half a year. When I went to the garage, it started immediately, with very stable idling. The driving and acceleration performance are good, but the dashboard displayed the check engine light. I didn’t pay immediate attention to it and drove the car for several days without any issues, but the check engine light never went off. So, I went to my usual garage (the mechanic is not a Rolls-Royce specialist, but he has a device to read the car’s fault codes) to try to turn off the check engine light. I was told the car had recorded more than 20 fault codes, all related to abnormal voltage of injectors 1 to 6 and intermittent misfiring of cylinders 1 to 6. The mechanic recorded and cleared all the fault codes, and asked me to drive the car for a few more days to see if the same codes would reappear. However, the check engine light came on almost immediately after starting the car again. The mechanic read the fault codes once more, and unfortunately, the same 20+ codes appeared. He told me it could be an ECM (Engine Control Module) fault, but he wasn't certain. Now, I am seeking help from knowledgeable experts here. Where can I get the ECU checked and repaired? What should be my next step? Thanks for any advice in advance! Best regards, William |
