I keep leaning towards an early (2005 ish) Continental GT. Does anyone have an opinion as to what they are like to own. I like to carry out as much maintenance as possible myself and have a well equiped workshop and have owned SY and SZ cars. Regards, Dick. |

Hi Dick, Gt is very tempting, but DIY maintenance is very difficult. Access is horrible and changing plugs is an artform !Engine out for many jobs. Still very tempting though. Electrics can be an issue. Would be worth a chat with John Creasey at Flying Spares. Mark |

My limited experience of GT is early cars can suffer water ingress into foot wells, where ecu's located. To change starter motor, engine /suspension/trans would normally be removed onto table designed with pickup points and body lifted off as in factory build process. Not sure about needing laptop to bleed brakes etc as well!! This table is a VW dealer mandatory tool? Good luck. |
