Hi All,

Can someone tell me what the engine position sensor is sensing. This is on a 1988 Bentley Turbo R with KE2 Jetronic system. IE the one with the separate fuel and ignition modules. The newer Motronic one is very clear in the manual. The older one is not clear.

My two assumptions, is it is either picking up the teeth in the starter ring gear or bits of metal welded on the torque converter.

But want to know exactly which one.

Thanks
Stefan

Hi,

Figured it out. There starter ring gear which is on the flywheel is closest to the engine, then the toothed wheel is separate and attached to the ring gear/flywheel.

Not part of the torque converter.

Toothed wheel can be accessed by removing a little metal plate at the bottom of the bell housing.
