My 82 spur had a flat battery and when I went to use jumper leads the ignition came on , lights etc but suddenly everything went black.Is there something I am missing. Help much appreciated

Hi Dave
Check your fuses (located under the glovebox and the release button is on the side of the dashboard just inside the passenger door).
It happened to me once and after much panic and searching, I found out the culprit was a tiny fuse which was marked in the fuse diagram inside the door. I changed that and 'Voila' I had ignition.
I've always thought it a bit strange that an entire ignition system hinged on this tiny fuse.
