Replaced the wiper motor with a used unit from a 'similar' age car. The original was damaged due to seized wiper linkages and rendered non functioning. The problem is when switching off the motor does not do a reverse turn. This would operate the 'ratchet' mechanism at the motor end of the main operating arm. This effectively lengthens the main operating arm just sufficient to operate the micro switch mounted on the bulkhead / firewall. 'Ratchet' mechanism is free and when operated manually does indeed slightly lengthen the main operating arm. Problem is the motor needs to do the reverse turn (anti-clockwise) to engage the 'ratchet'. Have I just got an incorrect motor do you think although the plug is the correct later type. There is a disparity in wiring colours between the loom and motor wiring. Any ideas? (Message approved by david_gore) | ||

Are all your relays ok? maybe got burnrd by the old motor. |
