Hi All,

I have an 85 Corniche with a broken camshaft, caused by a broken push rod that became stuck under a brake pump lobe. 4 other push rods are bent but not broken, all inlet, and I suspect this was caused by the engine sitting unused for a long time in very hot and dry conditions.

So I've removed the front part of the camshaft and the transmission, but am unsure how to remove the flexplate and starter ring gear, and cannot find reference in TSD4700

Is it OK to separate the flexplate from the ring gear (maybe they are balanced as a pair?) or do I have to remove the transmission adapter and starter motor also?

Any advice welcome
