I need to have the fuel distributor or locate a good used one for my 89 Turbo R. Can anyone recommend a company that rebuilds fuel distributors? It's a Bosch 0 438 101 040.

The car is running (but missing). My Bentley guy says one line is not delivering the correct pressure. He switched injectors, but confirmed it is not the injector.

Any help much appeciated!

Richard

I deal with Flotech in GA, USA. He is considered the best guy out there. The fuel metering unit comes off easily( I think 3 fasteners). New diaphragm is needed, but more importantly they are ultrasonically cleaned and flow balanced.
I would also have the injectors ultrasonically cleaned.

Robert,

I couldn't find "Flotech" in GA. I did find "CIS FLO-Tech in Alabama with a guy named "Larry" as the contact. Is this who you are referencing? I trust your opinion.

Thanks.

The company is called CIS Flo Tech and they are in AL and yes the guy is Larry. He's the go to guy for rebuilding CIS fuel distributors.

Best of luck

Larry rebuilt my fuel distributor and warm up regulator and it has been running perfectly since. However, it takes Larry a while to turn orders around

I had mine rebuilt in June 2011. A company in the UK called BCI arranged the repair.
I don't know if they will be able to help. The web address is http://www.bciparts.com/
At the time I made a note on the invoice Bosch part number 0438 101 040. Can't guarantee accuracy.
Regards
Darryl

I don't know if it's any use to you but I think I saw gasket and O ring sets for a Turbo on the UK eBay site.
Might worth a search.

A fuel distributor also has to be flow mapped by equipment. Installing new O rings and diaphragm is only a part of the overall rebuild.

Well I did write if it's any use to you. It looks as though I've just been given a D- for my homework.

Darryl, I was posting this out there for the community. The rebuild has to be inclusive for best results.
