Hi,

1990 SZ distributor drive belt and bank 1 bearing replacement.

When I removed the circlips to remove the drive belt the lower bearing, gear and washer fell out and spread all over the bench

The photo shows them loosely put them together, (I know that the top bush fits lower down the shaft).
Can anyone confirm that the parts are in the correct order prior to reassembly please.

This series of jobs has been “one of those” from start to finish.

Many thanks,
Darryl

Hi,
After a nights sleep I think that the assembly in the previous post is incorrect and that it should be like this.

Darryl

Hi Darryl I think the big washer thing is a belt guide and should be against the sprocket maybe?

Unfortunately, Heritage site only shows complete distributor.
There is a slot in the flange of the washer and belt teeth marks and the flat side of the washer. The taper on the gear matches the bearing inner and clears the circlip.
I have reassembled the distributor and am pretty sure the parts are in the configuration in this photo. (I used some spare/old bits for the picture)
I drove the geared section with an electric drill everything went around and, fingers and toes crossed, nothing fell to bits.
I’ll fit it in the car tomorrow and see how I get on.

All fitted. Started engine several times with no kick back. Fingers crossed.
Next job to adjust Air flow pot. See new post.
