After a run the temperature of the rear of the radiator, measured with an infra-red thermometer, is 90 – 92 C along the top, 87 along the middle (although 90 at one end), and 80C along the bottom.
Is 10C a normal difference? (I told you it’s a silly question).
The ‘stat is rated 88C and is OK as is the viscous fan coupling. (https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1424369-Fan-clutch-test).
The temp gauge sits in the white and is pretty stable.
Many thanks
Regards
Darryl
