Has anyone done this,a friend has a Turbo 1987 which overheated and broke a piston,he has found a 1983 RR engine which is perfect, will it fit ? Will it need any modification? Will the fuel pump have to be changed? He does not need the turbo engine. |

The Turbo block and non-turbo block have the same footprint and should mount with no problem, but it's all the ancillary stuff such as exhaust, ECU etc that has to be changed. It can be done. If it were me I would rebuild and go over everything. There may be a risk with a replacement engine, mileage, can you witness it running, etc? A Turbo with a rebuilt motor would have more value compared to a modified one with a non-turbo motor. You have to look at your return. |

Thank you for your reply, what you say makes complete sense as he does not have a donor car just an engine. Thanks Kevin |
