I know I could look at the workshop manual but I'm lazy and anyway, you guys know EVERYTHING about these old dollops, so I'll ask you instead.

Bentley Brooklands 'R' 1998 (66221) LPT and after a motorway cruise and then a spell in town, the oil pressure drops a bit. Leave it for a few minutes turned off and it recovers to its normal levels and I stop panicking! All these dreadful gauges are there just to make me fret....

Yes David your car has an oil cooler.
The oil pressure sender unit is not the best quality item that RR ever made. If you replace it - you may find your car suddenly becomes great again.

10/40. It's whatever the specialist put in, I prefer Mobil 1 and have always used it myself with excellent results, but I have no way of knowing what is in the big tubs that garages use. I did ask them what it was but after suggesting to them it was 'reconstituted chip fat from the local Greek taverna' I was told it was 'premium' stuff and stop being such a cheeky old ****!

It's just gauges really: when I started out driving in a MK10 Jaguar with multi gauges, I spent so much time watching them I am amazed I'm here today! I'm just the same with the Bentley, always looking at them to make sure they haven't deviated in the 10 seconds since last I looked! The slightest variation and I am on here worrying...

I am not saying this is right or wrong but my Bentley technician recommends and uses only Penrite30 for my Turbo R/L.
