hi I used these 22x38x10 Rubber Oil Seal TC Double Lip 22mm*38mm*10mm ebay item 281616352547 To fit them just take off the nut on the bottom of the ram, then with the lower arm supported jack up the car until you can just lift the raam out of the arm . take off the gaiter , clean out the recess and , slide the new seal up the shaft,using a large open ended spanner against the seal knock into the recess (keep it level with the recess). then put everything back together. took me less than an hour. hope it works for you Mike | ||

Hi Larry Not so far (200 miles), that side of the seal is very low pressure it is what goes back down the little green pipe back to the resvoir or should if the seal in the bottom of the srtut was in good condition ,but it gets damaged by grit sticking to the shaft. Question should there be hose clip on the botton of the gaiter? Cheers Mike | ||

They are now back in stock at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22x38x10-Rubber-Oil-Seal-TC-Double-Lip-22mm-38mm-10mm-/281616352547?hash=item4191a48523:g:WS0AAOSwrklU9Gz~ Just remeber to depressurise the system first so you can get the ram to lift out of the lower arm and keep the new seal square on to the ram when fitting, a little silicon gasket smeared around the new seal too to help it slide in and seal, it's a fairly easy job ok. Main thing is use axle stands when working under a car! Mike | ||

Hello Mike, I must be doing something wrong. Your idea to prevent leaks from the rear struts is great. I sent for two of the rubber cups almost straight away. I cannot get then to stay inside the flange. My strut looks very similar to yours but no matter how hard I push they do not stay in place. What am I doing wrong? Hi Clive The inside diameter of mine was slightly less than 38mm (can't remember exactly sorry), what is the inside diameter of the crimped over lip on yours? arrowed in pic  Best wishes Mike | ||

Hello Mike, Thanks for coming over and having a look at RR Strut. I have put everything back on as I need to move the car but thank you for the link on to Ebay I will look at that and see if there are any suitable seals. After you went I looked in the 'shed' for a correct size piece of plastic pipe and also went on Google looking for a seal that would do what we discussed. All the best and enjoy the holiday | ||

After reading the original post some years back I tried it on a strut with adaptive ride. Unfortunately the seal would not locate so I had to replace the strut. | ||
