Just put my Mulsanne S back on the road after 10 months during which time the battery went flat. The Driver Information Panel at first appeared dead, but after running the car it came back to life. I think that it must have it's own backup battery to retain the fault code and trip information. Interestingly it would not recharge by leaving the battery isolator on but needed the engine to be running. I know that the seat memory ECU has it's own backup battery but are there any more around these cars. If so should we be looking at a small, easy to get at central battery that supplies all devices. Many cars now are purely leisure vehicles and may not be used enough to keep the discrete batteries charged. |
