Hi all I am seeking advice on what engine oil I should use to maintain SCBZP15CCOVCH60128 whether to use fully synthetic or semi synthetic or any particular Product that you have been using that you have confidence in, I would also be interested in any other things I should look out for.

Richard.

Synthetic 0W 50 or 5W 40. Cannot imagine that semisythetic will give any issues, but the recommendation is full synthetic.

I asked the technical chap at Morris Lubricants for their advice. My inclination was synthetic, having used fully synthetic for many years, but he recommended their 10w40 semi synthetic rather then their 5w40 fully synthetic as it gives the extra "body" for the hydraulic tappets (lifters). The engine was very noticeably quieter after the oil change.

Hi Richard
Read this
http://www.rollsroyceforums.com/forums/27-sz-motorcars-1980-2003/13458-engine-oil-recommendations.html
Have a look at this chart and choose one with as much zddp as possible with a good viscosity.

Hope that helps
Mike

Hi Chris thank you for that, Last year when I ask this question I had just purchased this Vehicle and it allegedly had just been serviced, this year when it came to the service time I had it serviced by a reputable Rolls Royce specialist who just happens to be a member of this very forum, I forgot to ask him what oil that he had used, Perhaps he might let us know what he recommends.
