I have discovered that a small plastic lever on the back of the lock cylinder of my 96 Turbo RL's boot lid has broken. The part number is UB85381. I need helping figuring out how to replace this part. My initial attempt was to remove the cylinder but after releasing the clip that holds it in place it still wont budge. Has anyone had to replace this and how did you do it. I have the part diagram and I've considered removing the whole mechanism and the plates that hold it, but I wanted to check before taken this on. Hi Bill, It's a fiddle. but easier when out on your desk. Unclip the rod and electrical connection and then undo the two 7/16 nuts and bolts and it should wiggle out towards you Of course it sounds easy . . Once out . . more fiddling. Good luck. |
