Noticing a ringing sound from the front of my engine at idle, I went to replace the water pump. Upon disassembly of the engine accesories I discovered that not the water pump but the bearing in the jockey pulley was the source of the noise. I am a bit shocked to see that a new assembly costs more than 1000 £, an exchange part goes for a rather steep 270 £, that is more than a complete new water pump. Has anybody found a way to replace or to substitute the bearing in this pulley? Thank you! |

Hi Daniel, I did try ages ago but the different materials and odd shapes made it too tricky for my equipment. Got good used ones here if you want to PM me. Not got a reconditioned one atm and they take a couple of weeks to do. Cheers, Paul. |
