Is there a hydraulic circuit diagram available for the RR Spirit ?I understand there are differences between this and a Shadow and that ride height differences (approx 10mm)between rear sides cannot be tweeked on the height control valves, as on a Shadow . Advice greatfully received.

Mark - early cars had different systems are are independent left and right,

Later cars you need to shim to even up the heights.

They are very prone to breaking springs so if it's suddenly lower, that could be the problem.

Thanks Paul, this is an early car.The springs are OK, so I assume the difference is either old age or self levelling adjustment. I will try to trim this. My son bought the car at the RREC event in June(VERY cheap) and it had covered less than 500 miles in the last year.It has covered more than this in the last fortnight! It has substantial invoices in the last 5 years for brake and hydraulic overhaul by a reputable RR specialist. We have carried out a 12k mile service and changed the tyres and he is off for two weeks holiday in it next week. The AA sub is up to date.

Hi Mark,

Early ones have separate valves so can be adjusted.

Is there plenty of movement if you put your knee on the rear bumper and bounce it?

:-)

Hi Paul, yes plenty of movement on both sides and stiffness is about equal. A lot softer than on my wifes 1987 Bentley 8 though (I have replaced the spheres on the Bentley with Crewe replacements and I have Bilstein front shocks on this.).
