 G'day everyone,....

Today I went out to pay a few bills,...

On the way back towards home I take the scenic route.

As I come around a very tight bend in the road I cut the apex and right in the left wheel track is a fugging big bolt on the road,....

Well I released the turn a little to dodge but just clipped the bolt, it got flung up under Camilla with a very big BANG!

It then ended up right in the track of the rear,....

 BANG!

Next I hear WHOP WHOP WHOP, the sound of a deflated tire,....

I'll give Camilla credit, she did'nt become unbalanced at any time or pull to the left,...

I of course pulled over ASAP.

Punched right through the steel belt.

 Unrepairable.

Now looking for a new set of Avon Turbo Steels.

 Graham.

And you learnt that the RR on the hubcap means "remove to the rear". Left handed threads on the left side. Also threaten your passengers with death if they open that door against the jack.

Opens a discussion as to properly remove the wheelcover without damaging it.
Hint: it has something to do with the valve stem.

Robert, the answer is "Lever at one o'clock from the valve stem."

 Do I get a prize?

P.S. We now know what the RR on the wheel disc means. Mine are different - what does B.e.n.t.l.e.y. stand for?

I thread a short length of cord through two adjacent cutouts in the wheelcover and give a sharp tug.

Corrrect, Alan. It amazes me how people destroy their wheel covers with crowbars and screwdrivers trying to get them off.
