I assume SRH 17415 being late 1973 should have a CAV alternator and regulator?

The previous owner replaced the original with a Bosch unit with an internal regulator.

Being an originality freak, I'd like to return the charging system to its original configuration therefore wishing to confirm the CAV fitment.

Simple method to check for anything on your car.
Use the Bentley Heritage site. Plug in your chassis number and it will show all the parts for your car.

Save time and build date errors, yes as per mine early 1974 CAV is correct.

Robert thank you. I did use the Bentley Heritage site, however it came up with a dynamo when I put the chassis number in.........

Thanks Patrick. Had a look at a few 1973 and 1974 cars since the post, all with CAV units.
