Hi, I've been trying to fix my silver shadow 2 srh3094, 6/1977. I've removed the king lead from the distributor and positioned the lead 5mm away a good earth, switched the ignition on, the lead sparked. As i turned the motor over there was no spark. Once I turn the key it sparked again from the king lead. Anyone know why its not sending the spark when you crank the engine? Thanks in advance. |

King lead is the main lead from coil that connects to the distributor |

This can be one of the first causes showing the failing of the electronic distributor. Temp fix, make sure the air gap between the reluctor teeth and pickup is set at 0.20mm-0.35mm. Use non ferrous feeler gauge. The use of a hair dryer may just get the dist unit working short time! Simple fix by some is to fit a contact running distributor. King lead = HT coil lead. Supply line = coil LT lead. |
