I was looking for the reason why she stinks the car with gasoline - most in the trunk. I took off carpet on the fuel filler neck in the trunk. I found it in addition to the tank supply two hoses leading up somewhere. One of them is completely leaky in multiple places. What is it used for? Where can I get it?. I'd rather buy a regular fuel hose than the original, which I have not found anywhere. Thank you very much. |

Hi Stefan The hoses are part of an early attempt at emissions control and form part of the fuel tank venting system. It is covered in section K46 of the manual. I had to replace mine and used regular fuel hose. Cost was a few cents. Geoff |

Fuel hose is fine. Use hose clips. There should be four hoses. Two different sizes. Usually. They allow air out of the tank when refuelling. Emission controlled cars also went through a carbon filter before venting. When these are split petrol smells are most strong when the drivers window is open and you are cruising. |
