My apologies for earlier posting of this in the wrong (Mk6) section of this forum. Stumble and Fumble strike again!
Having removed the instrument panel of my early '72 Shadow 1 SRH12991 to replace a wiper wheel box, I want to modify the wiring to include the intermittent wipe setting. I have bought the later switch and the wiper delay unit but am having difficulty getting my head around the wiring diagrams in TSD2476. Has anyone done this mod and if so can they please tell me in words of one syllable, what to connect to where. Many thanks in advance.

Hello Roy. These questions rarely result in authoritive and spontaneous answers since the "answer" is not available simply from a book ("shop" manual etc) or readily accessible from that other convenient reference point, being the Internet. This calls for a professional technician(rather than an archivist) so Ive referred your question to our local R-R electrical specialist who, whilst unassuming and helpful, is a real expert. From the outset, he says you will need the later wiper motor and a wiper time delay module and asks that you supply the wiring diagrams that you are working with at which time he will attempt to analyse. As such diagrams may not legibly e'mail as attachments (as say,a socket/ratchet handle with extn.etc) would you like to AIR mail clear copies to me at 112 Oak St.,Beaumaris, Vic. 3193 and I will pass them on to him immeadiately. He currently has about 10 days backlog to address so if you dont mind a short delay I feel sure we will be able to assist within a few days of receipt. Ps; To respect general privacy, I have not openly published his contact details herein.
