Hi - does anyone know a suitable replacement (or part number) for the tappet chest cover? I think originally it used a silk thread to seal? What are the current options? Thanks, John |

Dos orange or green. Unfortunately you only need a drop and it's quite dear. If you have a friendly garage maybe you could rent a bottle? Silk thread is very cheap though. |

Also Loctite 574, or Permatex Flange Sealant, which while every bit as expensive as the Wurth DOS Orange are available in smaller tubes. Brian |

Thanks all. I assume the rubber seal available for the silver cloud V8 shouldn't be used on the Shadow? |

Definitely not John. The distance from the pump to the cam is imperative with a small tolerance, hence no gasket or thick sealant. Best regards, Paul. |
