Today I saw a RR SY 2 1978 parked up. White gold coach lines beige vinyl roof gold mascot beige leather walnut burr wood. Chauffeur hat in the car. The front wings behind the wheel have been badly repaired the sill has a dip in it. The chrome waist line trim has been bent where the bolt is and glued with silicon. The vinyl is lifting around the bottom of C post and has been glued down badly with silicone. I suspect that there's a fair amount of bondo applied to this car. I didn't touch the car just looked. I liked the dash board a lot. The owner appeared as I got back to my Jeep. No smoke or noise and off he went. Thats the sort of car that catches buyers out because its so easy to miss the clues that point to a improperly maintained car. Silicone sealer indeed. I use it where it can't be seen not to glue broken trim back on. The car is still recoverable though and as for UK price £7500 to £10,000 assuming the mechanics are good and the bottom of the car isn't made of bondo. |
