Hi all earlier this week a friend ask me to service his car a 1980 SS11 and to cut to the chase I used all my RR 363 on his car then I read on this Forum that this very same fluid is again unobtainable I had been using Yak363/Omars363 and recently changed to RR 363 its a bit like a merry go round and every time it comes round it gets more expensive I think I will go back to the home brew.

Or not . . .

Opie Oil RR363 7/17001/2014 11:06PM EDT

I have yet to experience an "RR 363 Outage" where it doesn't affect all retail suppliers in very short order.

Recently I have read msuch info on RR363 and I am 90% sure that RR363 is dot 3 with castor oil EP
at big Clue is that RR363 is called RR363 dot 3 by Castrol

From Castrols point of view to make dot 3 and then add more castor and then bottle it with different labels another product to stock and account for

Explains the price

They can't blend to much so they take a guess as to volume and as RR363 is not a huge earner they guess under

Castrol first duty is to profit which is right and proper

Diesel fuel does not feel any oillier than straight dot

The VI of diesel is waxy cold and water thin when hot

The RR pumps are similar to a inline diesel jerk injection pump

These pumps are lubricated by diesel and 500k is routine and the psi is higher

I think that if I were to run straight dot 3 the pumps will be fine

A while back RR363 was altered and compliants of noisey rams followed

I am starting to think that RR363 might be needed more for the rams than the pumps

I have 1 litre of RR363 left and 9 months till renewal so I have plenty of time.
