I have noticed over years that any mention about shadows will have a comment about the complex hydraulics My intention is to bust this myth and allay owners anxiety Head pressure is the pressure from gravity Which in a shadow is the hight of the tank to the other bits This preassure is acting of caliper seals when the brakes are off Via the dump circuit in the brake valves and the master cylinder circuit This small amount of pressure helps keep seals against whatever it seals Fiat in tech docs refer to it as residual pressure When new and no problems good seals etc Morris minors because then master is under the floor with the reservoir very little head pressure and in service they were known for leaky wheel cylinders As soon as the brake pedal is depressed the seals seal and brakes pedal hard The position of reservoir in the moggie made bleeding harder Shadow Dot should freely run from all brake bleed nipples engine off no pressure If not the hoses are blocked Because the ride rams are high this system has no head pressure therefore won't gravity bleed In the next episode I will explain about the brake valves And sucking eggs for the ones who already know
