This is just a simple tip that may be of interest: The flimsy wires on my bonnet lamp switch had broken off and the switch was corroded beyond repair. I thought what a silly idea to have the lamp switched on and draining the battery all the time the bonnet is open. I would think that 99% of the time you will be working in broad daylight or in a well-lit garage, and the lamp could be draining power for days on end without you realising it. So I wired my bonnet lamp to the driver's interior light switch instead. Now I can just switch the bonnet lamp on and off as I need it. Yes, the driver's lamp will come on as well as the bonnet lamp, but that serves as a handy reminder to switch the bonnet lamp off! (The driver's light switch is the wire that comes out of the side of the Switchbox barrel.) |
