I have found a serious error in the 1974/75 Silver Shadow wiring diagram. This is TSD4028, for cars from 16214. The error is in the Side Light circuit.
The 2 wires circled in red are transposed. In other words, the top wire should go to the Split Parking Switch, and the lower wire should go up to the diodes. The circuit can't possibly work as shown. The top wire comes from Fuse 1, which is a permanent supply, so the Side Lights would be permanently on if it was wired as shown! This wire should go to the Split Parking switch, which does need a permanent supply. The lower wire goes to the Fuel Warning Dimming Relay which should be connected to the Side Light diodes, so that it operates whenever the lights are on. It took me ages to fix a fault on my Side Lights. You don't expect the official circuit diagram to be wrong! |
