All but one of the trim rings on LRK37110 has either one or two of the retention clips with it's "tongue and teeth" missing: I'd like to replace these and have to believe that they might be very commonly available parts, but don't know that for sure. If anyone can point me to a source for replacement clips (or tell me that they're Crewe Original parts only) I would appreciate it. Brian |

Good luck in finding the clips Brian as I had no success finding them a decade ago; ended up buying some after-market stainless steel trim rings which were almost identical to the OEM items. Needless to say, I was very happy with the price. |

At less than a quid each they may well be, although never seen any suggested over the years. But at that price, why bother?? |

Precisely, Paul, Our Bentley spares outlets stock these things and countless other similar essential but cheap bits, selling them for next to nothing as a service to Customers. It's hardly profitable to spend half an hour processing an order for such bits and raising an invoice for a few dollars, but a good provider will do so happily as part of the spares service. Try that on a '77 Chevy. RT. ps: at the other end of the scale, try $25,000 retail for a set of (roller) tappets for an Arnage T. Our specialist spares outlets can sell them to you for a mere $11,000. VW made huge improvements when they revised the 6750 V8. Tappets that explode at 80,000km are a dream. |

Paul & Richard, There really must be some essential differences in what gets stocked depending on where you are in the world. Several years ago I was looking for the little plastic escutcheon "post holders" that push into the part that is on the door and could find them at one and only one Bentley dealership in the U.S. They were very inexpensive, which was a pleasant surprise. I hope the same will be true for these clips as well. Believe it or not "the issue" is not always price, it's ready availability. If I knew that those exact clips were something I could source at my local parts emporium I would always choose to do that rather than order & ship from a distant Bentley dealership, even if the price were exactly the same. It just makes more sense all around. Brian, who could probably rebuild a '77 Chevy almost from scratch given the availability of GM parts or aftermarket equivalents for that particular brand where I live, even decades past production |
