Bill, Just one more question. The 1/8"=2.5mm . Where I must take this ?Is it the diffence between front and rear of the wheel? My tyres is a little used on the external after 16000miles. I think I have to much toe in I have a tool as my picture a Facom u70 and I can work with the angle . I don't understand with my English ,the subtlety of the H1 section. Thank you for your help. I find how to set toe in at 1/8". The 1/8" is a distance at the end of rule . I will take some picture and if you want to see the setting I will can to see you on this forum. thank you for all. | ||

Francois/ If you think your English is bad you should see my French! Wheel alignment which includes 'toe in ' requires very sophisticated equipment. The suspension on your car is really quite simple to an expert. When you are dealing with such small dimensions on big equipment it is very difficult to be accurate. Can you not go to a wheel alignment specialist? | ||

Another general thought! These workshop manuals I believe were published in French and German. Does anyone know where we can get a hold of one of these copies and we could scan it and put it in the Tech Library. It is a bit of a tough requirement to have to learn English to adjust your toe-in! And I don't want to hear howls of protest from the Tibetan Branch of the RROC!! | ||

Francois: Ca va? Ca va aussi. your English is far better than my bad French. Even though I passed my Conversational French exams before leaving school I had little cause to use it for over 15 years and not much more in the 30 years since then. Most of your problems will be the 'jargon' or technical words that you will need to learn, which won't be found in most dictionaries. Strangely it was from owning a bilingual Polish/English army technical manual (and a similar bible) that my late father taught himself to speak and write English after WWII. Keep at it and you'll get there in the end! Bon chance mon ami. |
